Recently on EBAY an interesting auction has appeared out of nowhere.. What is being claimed as a truly one of a kind Final Fantasy II NES Demo/Sample has appeared for the asking price of 50,000.

The owner claims that this is only REAL copy in the world of this lost game.


As most of you are no doubt aware, the original version of Final Fantasy II was never released in the United States. This particular cartridge was put together by the fine folks at Square Soft USA (a very small company at the time) to display at the 1991 Winter Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The plan was to release the game later that year, but instead, Square scrapped its 8-bit NES plans to focus on the new 16-bit Super Nintendo.


If this is indeed a legit copy of this game, then it will indeed surpass some of the most rare and valuable titles in NES history including the Nintendo world Championships which has long been considered the holy grail on NES collecting.

Skylanders Central - Lets Play Skylanders - Stump Smash

In this edition of Lets Play Skylanders, I take a look at Life Elemental Skylander Stump Smash.

Stump Smash is a tree-like creature who is one of the playable Skylanders in the Skylanders series, first appearing in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.

Stump Smash is a pretty slow character to start off with. He is also one of my least favorite characters to play as.  However, he does have a variety of powerful attacks that make him a decent Skylander to play with.

Despite having his branches chopped, Stump Smash can still attack his enemies by slamming them with his mallet-like hands. He also has the ability to roll a large, spiked acorn upon his opponents, and can spit out smaller acorns at his opponent that will cause branches to grow on the enemy's body, slowing them down as a result.

New York-New York Arcade in Las Vegas

I take a tour at the arcade located at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. There was all sorts of games in there and it was amazing. Take a look.



New York- New York is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip at 3790 Las Vegas Boulevard South, in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.

New York-New York uses the New York City influence of its name in several ways. Its architecture is meant to evoke the New York City skyline; the hotel includes several towers configured to resemble New York City towers such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.

In front of the property is a lake representing New York Harbor, with a 150-foot-tall (46 m) replica of the Statue of Liberty, and replicas of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Main Immigration Building on Ellis Island, and Grand Central Terminal.

Skylanders Central - Lets Play Skylanders - Drobot

In this edition of Let's Play Skylanders, I take a look at Drobot. A tech element Skylander. How does he hold up? Lets check it out.

Drobot is a robotic suit-wearing dragon who is one of the playable Skylanders in the Skylanders series, first appearing in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.

Dragons are smart, but none so much as Drobot. He was born in the highest reaches of Skylands, where dragons spent all their time competing in aerial battles. But Drobot was more interested in taking things apart to see how they worked. While exploring one day, Drobot came upon some mysterious technology, and used his intelligence to assemble a robotic suit that would make him just as powerful as his fellow dragons... if not more so.

His suit features laser beams that shoot from his eyes, flight enhancement technology, a vocal synthesizer that gives him a deep booming voice, and the ability to shoot spinning gears at a high velocity. With such power, more than most other dragons, Drobot joined the Skylanders to help protect the residents of Skylands.

Wearing his robotic suit, Drobot has the ability to shoot laser beams from his eyes. He can also launch spinning uranium bladegears that can hit against enemies and surrounding objects. Being a dragon, he has the ability to fly, but being an inexperienced flyer, Drobot uses his robot suit to fly, also possessing the power to hover in the air like a jet using his robotic wings.

Skylanders Pickup and Unboxing #4 - 3DS Starter Set with Dark Spyro, Ign...

I went ahead and bought into the Skylanders Spyro's Adventure craze that has been going on and bought myself the Skylanders Starter Kid for the Nintendo 3DS Starter Set (3DS) with Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf and Ignitor!

Lets Play Skylanders - Cynder

In this edition of Lets Play Skylanders, I take a look at Undead Elemental Skylander Cynder!



Cynder is a violet dragoness who is one of the playable Skylanders in the Skylanders series, first appearing in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.
She was corrupted by the Dragon King of the Underworld, Malefor, and therefore was gifted with sinister abilities due to her exposure to the darkness of the Undead element. Cynder was later defeated by Spyro and freed from the grip of evil, later becoming a Skylander to redeem herself for her dark past.


Due to her exposure to the darkness of Malefor's corruption, Cynder gained abilities that are related to the elements of Undead, such as breathing dark electricity and temporarily turning into her shadow form to dash past enemies, leaving behind a trail of ghostly allies in her wake that will harm her foes.
Being a dragon, Cynder also has the ability to fly using her wings.

8-Bit Eric Plays #4: Tetris (NES) Let's Play

This weeks edition of 8-Bit Eric Plays, I check out an NES classic Tetris! An addictive classic that is a piece of gaming history.

Tetris (Russian: Тетрис) is a tile-matching puzzle video game originally designed and programmed by Alexey Pajitnov in the Soviet Union. It was released on June 6, 1984,[2] while he was working for the Dorodnicyn Computing Centre of the Academy of Science of the USSR in Moscow. He derived its name from the Greek numerical prefix tetra- (all of the game's pieces contain four segments) and tennis, Pajitnov's favorite sport.

It is also the first entertainment software to be exported from the USSR to the U.S. and published by Spectrum Holobyte for Commodore 64 and IBM PC. The Tetris game is a popular use of tetrominoes, the four element special case of polyominoes. Polyominoes have been used in popular puzzles since at least 1907, and the name was given by the mathematician Solomon W. Golomb in 1953. However, even the enumeration of pentominoes is dated to antiquity.

Lets Play Skylanders - Lightning Rod

In this edition of Lets Play Skylanders, I take a look at Air Elemental Skylander Lightning Rod!

Lightning Rod is a storm giant who is one of the playable Skylanders in the Skylanders series, first appearing in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.

Being a storm giant, Lightning Rod can throw lightning bolts and summon a large lightning bolt to strike down from the heavens to vanquish his foes. He can also send out electrical discharges from his cloud base to electrocute surrounding enemies.

How to Fix Your NES Console

Have you ever put a game in your original NES, turned it on and for the first half a second you start to see the title screen coming up but then it just resets itself over and over again?

This video shows you how to repair your Nintendo Entertainment System to where it works perfectly every time.

This is done by disassembling the console, taking out the 72 pin connector cleaning it and fixing it by hand.

Also, disabling the 10nes lockout chip will stop the blinking red light problem.
These simple solutions will allow you to regain the enjoyment of classic NES games on your original NES console!

Bit.Trip Complete (Wii) Review | 8-Bit Eric

Bit.Trip Complete for the Nintendo Wii, this is essentially a compliation of the six Bit Trip games all on one convienent disc.

Now I wasn't able to download the series on Wii ware, so I found it handy that they decided to release Bit Trip Complete.

Bit.Trip is a series of simple yet addictive games and a nice through back to classic retro games such as pong and break out.

The shining star of this series is the music. If you are a fan of chiptune and retro 8bit style of music, then the bit trip series is for you, and what makes bit trip complete a steal is there is a music soundtrack CD that accompanies the game.

Additional features are online leader boards, challenge modes, tons of unlockable content and the addiction of difficulty modes that range from easy  to a hard mode catered to more advanced players.

In Bit.Trip Beat, you slide a paddle up and down the left side of the screen by tilting the Wii Remote. The goal is to bounce the projectiles that come at you back to the other side, sort of like an intense Pong practice session. Things start off simply, but you soon encounter increasingly complex patterns and trajectories that stretch the limits of your tilting abilities.

In Bit.Trip Core, however, motion controls are left behind in favor of the precision of button pressing. Here you must eliminate similarly mischievous projectiles by shooting lasers in the four directions of the D-pad.

In Bit.Trip Void, you encounter the most freedom of movement you ever get in a Bit.Trip game. Your job is to steer a black sphere around the screen, grabbing the black bits that come your way but avoiding the white bits. The more bits you absorb, the bigger your sphere grows. The bigger your sphere, the better your score, but you frequently have to manually downgrade to your original size to avoid white bits.

Bit.Trip Runner puts you in control of the bipedal Commander Video for the first time. His enthusiasm for the platformer experience is such that he doesn't stop running, and it's up to you to jump, slide, kick, and block your way past obstacles, all while grabbing gold

Bit.Trip Fate continues the Commander's exploits in an on-rails shooter in which you slide back and forth on the rail to avoid enemies and projectiles while pointing the Wii Remote to blast your foes and collect power-ups.

Bit.Trip Flux, harks back to Bit.Trip Beat, once again giving you paddle control and introducing a host of new patterns and obstacles.
